Sheriff Billy Woods - February 1, 2018. 3:00 PM @ The Lodge
He will be discussing the changes he is making to the Sheriff’s Department, as well giving us an update on all the issues going on in our area and along the SR200 corridor. He will also discuss the various scams that are being worked in our area. There will be plenty of time for your questions after his presentation.
Marion County Parks and Recreation - February 15th, 2018. 3:00 PM @ The Lodge
Jim Couillard, Director and Landscape Architect for Marion County Parks and Recreation will be giving us a presentation on the many fine Parks and Recreation opportunities in our wonderful Marion County. He will also discuss State Park opportunities within the County.
Pat Gabriel - WHAT’S NEW ALONG OUR SR200 CORRIDOR?

Pat Gabriel, President of the SR200 Coalition, will be giving us an update on all the new developments along our SR200 Corridor. There are many new businesses opening or planning on opening in our immediate area. Come and hear about all of them. As well as giving us an update of our area, Pat gives these very informative presentations to many other communities. Come and hear what’s going on in our front yard. If you remember, the last three times she gave this presentation, we had a full house. Be sure to come early.
“Tapas and Wine Social” (New Event)
Mark your calendar for this new social event; a late afternoon of “Tapas and Wine” on Sunday February 11th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at The Lodge. This is a catered event that will serve you several small plate tapas paired with a wine that compliments the food. A presentation will be given by the proprietors of “7 & 7 Coffee and Wine Shop” in Ocala. They will describe the tapas, the accompanying wine and explaining why the selected wine enhances the food. Please note that this is not intended to be a dinner event. The time has been set to let you enjoy aperitifs and hors d’oeurves before your evening meal. Possibly you may want to enjoy the restaurant at our Candler Hills Club immediately following this event.
Tickets for the event will go on sale in early January at $30 per person. Look for more details in the November issue of our newsletter “The Happenings”.
The next Candler Connection Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Candler Community Center Ball Room. All residents are welcome to come and discuss any issue pertaining to the Board.
